Cystic Fibrosis (CF) may pass onto a baby when both parents are carriers. A screening may be done in couples who are pregnant or considering pregnancy to determine if they are carriers. Approximately 1 in 30 Americans is a symptomless carrier of the CF gene. Turnaround time for the Cystic Fibrosis profile is typically 10-15 business days.
