Drug Test - 5 Panel Hair Follicle w Expanded Opiates (Labcorp)
This test looks for the same drugs of abuse as a standard 5 Panel Hair Follicle test but includes a larger selection of Opiates. Hair drug testing can typically detect drug use up to 90 days in the past. Most drugs will be detectable in hair starting at 7-10 days after use. Because hair follicle testing looks for drug metabolites, external or second hand exposure should not cause a false positive result. Please note that hair follicle testing may not be ideal for detecting casual drug use. This type of test is typically more appropriate for detecting chronic use. This test provides an initial screening with confirmatory testing on any positive results at no additional cost. Confirmatory testing will provide numerical results for any component which tests positive.
This hair drug test looks for:
- Amphetamines (including Methamphetamine)
- Cocaine
- Marijuana
- Opiates (Morphine, Oxymorphone, Hydromorphone, Codeine, Hydrocodone, 6-MAM)
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
Hair follicle testing is typically ordered when someone desires a longer detection period than urine testing can provide. Hair testing is more effective than other sample types at detecting long-term drug use. For post-accident testing or more recent use, a urine or blood test may be more appropriate. In some cases, a 5 Panel Urine Drug Test may be ordered along with a hair test for a more comprehensive screening. Requirements:

Hair must be at least 1.5-2 inches in length. Hair will be collected from the crown at the scalp. The lab will be required to take a sample of at least 90-120 strands.
Please note that not all lab locations are able to perform the collections for hair drug testing. When placing a testing order online you will only be able to select from lab locations which are able to perform this type of testing.
Please note: This test will not be submitted to a Medical Review Officer (MRO). We offer Rapid Urine Drug Testing and Saliva Drug Testing that will include an MRO review only if at least one positive appears on the test results. Please contact Request A Test with any questions.
