Request A Test reserves the right to deny an order based on test selection, circumstance, or age of the person to be tested.
-
Can I order drug testing for someone who is not my child or employee?
You may place this type of order by calling Request A Test at 888-732-2348. Please note that Request A Test cannot release a person’s test results to any other party without their authorization.
-
Will my drug test include a chain of custody (COC)?

-
Can I order an observed collection for my drug test?
It is the policy of the labs that Request A Test works with not to perform observed collections. In some cases, a lab attendant may agree to perform an observed collection, but it is entirely at the discretion of the lab personnel.
-
Will drug testing be able to detect secondhand exposure?
A false-positive result due to secondhand exposure is unlikely but not impossible. The drug tests offered by Request A Test are not intended to detect secondhand or incidental exposure. However, some research has shown that in rare cases, a person may test positive from being in recent proximity to a person who was using drugs.
-
How long does it take to get results for a drug test?
The turnaround time for testing will vary depending on the sample type and test ordered. Please see the test description for each test for an estimated turnaround. Note that the posted turnaround times are only an estimate and additional delays are possible.
-
Does Request A Test offer drug testing with instant results?
Request A Test has several options for rapid urine drug tests, however, these tests do not provide “instant” results. Negative results for a rapid drug test will typically be available to the client within 1-2 hours through their account on Requestatet.com. In some cases, negative results may take longer depending on the lab. Any sample for rapid drug testing that does not test negative on the initial screen will be submitted for further testing. This process can take anywhere from several business days up to approximately 10 – 12 business days.
-
Is there anything that can be done to speed up my test results?
Unfortunately, there is nothing Request A Test can do to expedite the drug testing process. If your results are delayed beyond the typical turnaround time, we can reach out to the lab on your behalf but cannot guarantee an ETA.
-
Should I take information about my prescriptions/medications, to the lab?
No. The lab personnel will not be able to take any information on your medications when collecting your specimen.
-

-
How long are drugs detectable in urine?
The detection period of drugs in urine can vary depending on a number of factors including a person’s metabolism, weight, physical health, dosage, and frequency of use. In general, most drugs are detectable in urine for 1-3 days after use. The metabolites of some drugs, such as marijuana, can build up in a person’s body the more they use it and be detectable for periods of weeks or even months.
-
How long are drugs detectable in blood?
As with urine, the detection period of drugs in the blood can vary depending on factors including age, weight, and dosage. In general, most drugs are detectable in blood for 6-24 hours. Some drugs may be detectable for up to 2 days.
-
How long are drugs detectable in saliva/oral fluid?
The detection period of drugs in oral fluid can vary depending on several factors including age, weight, metabolism, and dosage. In general, most drugs are detectable in oral fluid for up to 2 days.
-
How long are drugs detectable in hair?
Hair drug testing has a detection period of about 90 days. The detection period is an estimate since hair grows at a different rate depending on the person. Note: It may take 7-10 after exposure for substances to be detectable in hair.
-
What are the requirements for a hair drug test?
Hair drug testing requires a sample of at least 100-120 strands, taken from the crown of the head, with hair that is at least 1.5-2 inches in length.
-
Can a hair test be done with a body hair sample?
Labcorp will only collect hair samples from the head. Some Quest locations will collect body hair samples if the hair on a person’s head is not long enough.
-
Is the detection period for a hair test using body hair the same as one using head hair?
Because body hair does not grow at a consistent rate the way the hair on the head does, the detection period for testing done on body hair is variable.
-
Can legal forms of Marijuana/THC such as Delta-8 or CBD cause a positive result on a drug test?
It is possible to test positive for Marijuana/Cannabis after using products that contain any form of THC. In some cases, these products may cause interference with a urine drug test preventing the lab from providing valid test results.
-
I live in a state where marijuana is legal. Can I order a drug test that does not include marijuana?
Yes. Request A Test offers several urine drug tests that do not include THC.
-
What can I do if I disagree with the results of my drug test?
Request A Test reports all test results directly from the lab that performed the test. We have no ability to alter test results and, in most cases, do not have any information on why a person tested positive or negative for any drug(s). If you believe your results may have been affected by any prescription or over-the-counter medication you have recently taken, it is recommended you talk to your prescribing doctor or pharmacist.
-
Can I take a drug test to prove I am taking my prescription medication as directed?
The drug tests offered by Request A Test are intended to screen for drugs of abuse, not to monitor prescription medication. Prescription medication may or may not be detectable on a drug of abuse test depending on the dosage and other factors. It is recommended that you consult your doctor before ordering any test for this purpose.
