Specimen Type: Saliva
|
Description:
9 Panel Saliva (Oral Fluid) Drug Test (Labcorp)
This test looks for common drugs of abuse in an oral fluid sample. Saliva drug testing is useful for determining if someone has recently had drugs in their system. Most drugs can be detected in saliva less than an hour after use. They will typically remain detectable for 5-48 hours depending on how much was taken and how the drug was administered.
This testing panel contains:
- Amphetamines (including Methamphetamine)
- Barbiturates
- Benzodiazepines
- Cocaine
- Marijuana
- Methadone
- Opiates (Codeine, Morphine, Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone)
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
- Propoxyphene
You will receive a specimen collection device and instructions at the lab. Testing will include an initial screening with confirmatory testing performed if something is detected. The draw site where the specimen is collected will not be able to take any documentation regarding your prescription medication.
**In the event that at least one positive appears on the test results, the person being tested will be contacted by a Medical Review Officer (MRO). The MRO will go over any medications you may be taking and ask for documentation. At the MRO's discretion, a positive result may be changed to negative if they can verify that it was caused by medication that was being taken as prescribed. Test results that are all negative will NOT be submitted to an MRO.**
Turnaround is typically 1-3 business days for negative results. If confirmatory testing is necessary, results may take up to 5-9 business days.
