This test looks for Clonazepam in a urine sample. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that is prescribed to treat disorders that cause seizures. It can also be used to treat anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, social anxiety disorder, and certain types of phobias. Under the brand name Klonopin, clonazepam is one of the most commonly prescribed benzodiazepines in the United States. Like other benzodiazepines, clonazepam can be abused for the euphoric high it creates as well as its sedative effects. Clonazepam is not typically prescribed for long-term use because it can cause dependence and addiction. Common symptoms of abuse include fatigue, memory loss, constipation, depression, and difficulty concentrating. Overdoses can cause difficulty breathing, severe confusion, loss of consciousness, and death.
