H Pylori Stool Test Online

Description:

H Pylori Stool Test (Labcorp)

The H Pylori Stool Test is used to establish the presence of Helicobacter Pylori (H Pylori).

H Pylori is a bacteria commonly found in the stomach. It weakens the stomach's natural protective lining making it more susceptible to damage from gastric acid. This can lead to the development of ulcers and in time, increase the risk of developing stomach cancer.  Symptoms of H Pylori typically include heartburn, nausea, gas, stomach or abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting and indigestion.

There are several ways to test for H Pylori.  The H Pylori Stool Test looks for the presence of antigens that signal the immune system to fight infections.  Stool testing is considered one of the preferred methods of detecting a current infection or determining if treatment was effective by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).

An H Pylori Breath Test can be more effective for people who are determining if their treatment was successful or have had previous H Pylori infections since it does not rely on the presence of antibodies to establish if the bacteria is present.

The H Pylori Stool test typically sees results in 2-5 business days.
