Complete Urinalysis & Urine Culture (Labcorp)
This package combines 2 popular urine tests, the Complete Urinalysis and Urine Culture, that are often performed together. These tests are often ordered when someone has symptoms of a urinary tract infection.
The Complete Urinalysis looks for a number of irregularities in a urine sample that may be related to liver or kidney problems or infections. An automatic microscopic examination is included.
A Urine Culture looks for bacterial grown in a urine sample that may be the result of an infection of the urinary tract or kidneys. Positive results will usually identify the type of bacteria present and provide a list of effective antibiotics.

Please note: First morning specimens yield the highest bacterial counts from overnight incubation in the bladder, and are the best specimens. Yet, you may still provide a specimen any time throughout the day.
