Calcium Creatinine Ratio Urine Test
Description:
Calcium Creatinine Ratio Urine Test
This test measures calcium and creatinine levels in a random urine sample. Increased levels of calcium in the urine are typically associated with a condition knows as Hypercalciuria. Hypercalciuria can be related to a number of health concerns. Some of the most common conditions associated with elevated urinary calcium levels are:
- Increased risk of developing kidney stones
- Prostate cancer
- Kidney disease
- Bone density disorders
Excess calcium excretion in urine may be the result of a diet with too much sodium or an inherited genetic disorder.
Irregular results to a random calcium urine test may be followed up by a 24-hour calcium urine test.
Turnaround for this test is typically 1-2 business days
Note: Result turn around times are an estimate and are not guaranteed. Our reference lab may need additional time due to weather, holidays, confirmation/repeat testing, or equipment maintenance.
