Description:
Fentanyl, Acetyl Fentanyl, and Analogues Urine Drug Test
This test is used to detect Fentanyl as well as some of its common metabolites and analogues, such as Acetyl Fentanyl. This test looks for Fentanyl, Norfentanyl, Acetyl Fentanyl, Acetyl Norfentanyl, Alfentanil, Sufentanil, and Norsufentanil. In the event of a positive result, a numerical value will be provided for the level of the drug detected.
What is the difference between Fentanyl and Acetyl fentanyl?
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is sometimes prescribed to treat severe pain. In recent years, there has been a rise in reported cases of abuse of Fentanyl and similar drugs. Acetyl Fentanyl is an illegal drug that is chemically similar to Fentanyl. While Acetyl Fentanyl is not as potent as Fentanyl, both are significantly more potent than other common opiates such as Heroin. Due to their potency, Fentanyl and Acetyl Fentanyl carry a high risk of overdose. The health risks for drug users are especially high when Fentanyl or Acetyl Fentanyl are mixed with other drugs, such as Heroin or Cocaine, or taken as a substitute for less potent opiates. A number of cases of overdose have been reported, with users not realizing exactly what or how much they actually took.
What are Fentanyl analogues?
Other analogues of Fentanyl, such as Alfentanil and Sufentanil, can be abused with dangerous side effects. These potent painkillers are typically used as anesthetics during surgery due to the fact that they are fast-acting but have shorter-lasting effects.
Is Fentanyl a Novel Psychoactive Substance (NPS)?
Synthetic opioids like fentanyl and its analogues are classifiedunder the umbrella of NPS (Novel Psychoactive Substances). NPS are synthetic drugs designed to mimic the effects of traditional illicit drugs such as cannabis, cocaine, heroin, and LSD.
Do Fentanyl and Acetyl Fentanyl show up on a drug test?
Synthetic opioids such as Fentanyl and Acetyl Fentanyl are not included in most common drug screens. A test that specifically looks for them is required to detect if a person has had them in their system. Fentanyl is typically detectable in urine for 1-2 days after use but detection times may vary based on a number of factors, such as a person's metabolism and how much they took.
Customers who wish to test for Fentanyl only may order our Fentanyl Urine Drug Test. For a longer detection period, a Hair Follicle Fentanyl Test is also available.
Turnaround for this test is typically 5-7 business days, but may take longer if confirmatory testing is necessary.
