Suboxone (Buprenorphine) Drug Test

Buprenorphine, Screen & Confirmation

Specimen Type: Urine

Description:

Suboxone (Buprenorphine) Drug Test

The Suboxone (Buprenorphine) drug test is used to detect the presence of Suboxone, also known as Buprenorphine, in a urine sample.  If the initial screen detects anything, additional confirmatory testing will be performed at no additional charge.  Positive confirmatory testing will provide numerical results for the level detected in the sample.  Suboxone is the commercial name for Buprenorphine.  Buprenorphine is a synthetic opiate which is typically used to treat people who are suffering addiction to heroin or opiates such as morphine.  Buprenorphine can be abused due to it producing similar effects to other opiate drugs.  Misuse of Buprenorphine can lead to respiratory problems, seizures and may be fatal, especially when it is mixed with alcohol.  Common side effects include nausea, muscle pain, fever, sweating, diarrhea, slurred speech, increased blood pressure, insomnia, memory loss and depression.

Suboxone/Buprenorphine is typically detectable in urine for 1-3 days after use.  Detection periods are an estimate and may vary based on a number of factors such as a person's metabolism and how much they have taken.

For more testing options, please see our Drug Testing Category.

Turnaround on this test is typically 1-3 business days but may be longer if confirmatory testing is required.

Note: Result turn around times are an estimate and are not guaranteed. Our reference lab may need additional time due to weather, holidays, confirmation/repeat testing, or equipment maintenance.
