What is Isocyanate MDI?
This test looks for an allergic reaction to Isocyanate MDI. Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) is a chemical compound used in a number of industrial settings. It is used in the production of materials such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers that are components for many products.
What are the symptoms of Isocyanate MDI allergy?
Some people who are exposed to Isocyanate MDI can develop an allergic reaction. The most common symptom of an allergic reaction is an asthma-like reaction resulting in coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest. Other symptoms include eye irritation, an itchy red skin rash, runny nose, and sore throat.
