Vitamin E Blood Test Online

Description:

Vitamin E Blood Test (Labcorp)

This test measures Vitamin E levels in the blood.  Vitamin E is an antioxidant which plays a role in a number of healthy bodily processes.  It can also help prevent or delay conditions such as Cardiovascular Disease and cancer.  This test provides measurements for 2 forms of Vitamin E, Alpha Tocopherol and Gamma Tocopherol.  Vitamin E is found in a number of foods including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs and cereals.  Most people naturally get enough Vitamin E in their diet so deficiency is rare.  However, deficiency can occur in people who are chronically malnourished or have malabsorption disorders such as Cystic Fibrosis, Celiac Disease or Crohn's Disease.

Vitamin E testing is typically done to monitor someone with a malabsorption disorder or children who are malnourished.

For additional testing options, please see our Vitamin Testing Category.

The typical turnaround time for this test is 3-6 business days.
