Description:
Designer Benzodiazepines Urine Drug Test
What are Designer Benzodiazepines?
This test looks for the presence of designer benzodiazepines in a urine sample. Designer benzodiazepines are substances produced in a lab that are intended to mimic the effects of prescription benzodiazepines such as Xanax and Valium. These drugs are part of a larger classification known as Novel Psychoactive Substances or NPS. Designer benzodiazepines are produced in illegal, unregulated labs. They may be more potent than their pharmaceutical counterparts. They may also contain unknown substances that can create a significant health risk for the user. For these reasons, designer benzodiazepines are considered a greater public health risk than the legal versions.
What does a Designer Benzodiazepine Test look for?
This test will conduct an initial screening, followed by confirmatory testing if the screen detects something. Confirmatory testing will provide individual results for specific types of designer benzodiazepines. If no confirmatory testing is warranted, the results will just show negative for designer benzodiazepines.
Confirmatory testing will include differentiated results for the following substances:
- Delorazepam
- Etizolam
- Alpha-hydroxyetizolam
- Deschloroetizolam
- Nifoxipam
- Bromazepam
- Diclazepam Clonazolam
- 8-Aminoclonazolam
- Flualprazolam
- Alpha-hydroxy flualprazolam
- Meclonazepam
- Flubromazepam
- Phenazepam
- 3-Hydroxyphenazepam
- Pyrazolam
- Flubromazolam
- Alpha-hydroxy flubromazolam
Testing for designer benzodiazepines is not he same as testing for regular benzodiazepines. A standard urine test for Benzodiazepines is available. Benzodiazepines are also included in a number of drug panels, including the 7 Panel Urine Test.
Turnaround for this test is typically 7-10 business days.
