Nicotine (Cotinine) Urine Test (Labcorp)
This test is used to detect Cotinine, the primary metabolite of Nicotine in the urine. This test includes an initial screening with an automatic confirmatory test performed in the event that something is detected. Positive test results will include a numerical value for the level detected. Negative results will simply say "negative." A Nicotine Urine Screen that only provides qualitative (positive or negative) results is also available.

Detection Period:
Cotinine is typically detectable in urine for 1-3 days after nicotine use. The detection period may be longer depending on the person and how much they have used. Heavy smokers may show detectable levels of cotinine in their urine for up to 20 days.
