The Total Estrogens Blood Test provides a combined measurement for the primary types of Estrogen.  Estrogen is produced primarily in the ovaries and is responsible for female sexual development.  Measuring estrogen levels can be helpful in screening for estrogen-producing tumors, evaluating fertility issues, and monitoring women going through menopause.

Symptoms of abnormal estrogen levels can include fatigue, hot flashes, thinning hair, irregular menstruation, cramps, mood swings, and changes in blood pressure. 

This test may also be ordered by men who are being tested for symptoms associated with low testosterone or hormone replacement therapy.

Customers who require individual measurements for types of Estrogen may also order the Estradiol or Estrone blood tests.
