Nutritional Deficiency Basic Blood Test

This package includes several tests to help evaluate a person's nutrition.  These types of tests can be especially helpful for a person who is observing a vegan or vegetarian diet.  Vegetarians focus on omitting meat from their diet while vegans typically avoid any animal-based products including eggs and dairy.  While there are health benefits to these types of nutritional choices, it is also important to ensure that you are getting the important vitamins and nutrients your body needs to function properly.  Deficiencies in these nutrients can affect your health in ways you may not anticipate and may even counteract the intended benefits of your dietary choices.  Periodic bloodwork can assess your general health and identify if there are deficiencies in your diet that need to be addressed.  Bloodwork can also show the positive impacts that dietary choices are making on your health.

Turnaround for these tests is typically 1-3 business days.

Requirements:

Fasting for 9 - 12 hours is required.

Iron and Total Iron-binding Capacity testing should occur prior to given therapeutic iron or blood transfusion. Collection should occur a minimum of 4 days after blood transfusion.

It is recommended that someone taking Biotin (also known as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R) stop consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.
