Calcium Test in Colchester, Connecticut

Same day and Affordable Calcium Test, Locations Nationwide

Whether knowing your calcium levels is for a routine health screening or to help diagnose a health condition, Request A Test offers a convenient and affordable Calcium Test in Colchester, CT. Calcium is a mineral which contributes to healthy bones and teeth as well as other functions including the nervous system, heart, and muscles. Measuring the calcium levels being passed from the body in urine can help determine if a person has an excess or deficiency.

We offer five Calcium tests. The Calcium Test is frequently part of a general health screening. This test may also be used to assist in the diagnosis or monitoring of conditions which may affect the heart, bones, teeth, kidneys or nerves. A Calcium test is also included as part of a Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), and Renal Function Panel. The Calcium, Ionized test may be used to measure the free or unbound amount of calcium in the blood. Calcium which is not bound to albumin is considered free and metabolically active. It may be useful in critically ill people, those undergoing major surgery or people with abnormal blood protein when the total calcium test isn't a good measure of calcium status. Ionized calcium is also measured in the MAG-Vitamin D Panel which is the third calcium test we offer. It includes four tests: Magnesium RBC, Vitamin D, 1, 25-dihydroxy, Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy and Ionized Calcium. This panel provides a snapshot of one's metabolism of calcium. Lastly, the two calcium urine tests are the Calcium 24 Hour and the Calcium Creatinine Ratio. The Calcium 24 Hour Urine Test measures calcium levels in a 24-hour urine sample. The Calcium Creatinine Ratio measures calcium and creatinine levels in a random urine sample.
